DAY 8 & 9: Portugal/North Korea
Well, let's just say, I went to go get a few hot dogs and beers and ended up missing 4 goals! The Portugal / N. Korea game was a slaughtering. Some would call it a Portugal Party...! The atmopshere was festive given the fact that there are only Portugal fans in the stadium and that they were all on cloud nine after teh 7-0 win.
T
he following day Steven and I did a day trip to Blomfentien, to see host country South Africa take on France. Now, I don't know how many of you have been following the implosion of the French side - with sending
players home and infighting, the game was a big question mark in terms of who would come out on the winning side. We of course were hoping for BUFANA BUFANA to pull it out...and they did in great fashion. It was fun to dance with the fans to the beat of their vuvuzelas (yes, there is
a beat and/or rythym to them if used correctly). While it was a long day trip, (flight was 2 hours) it was a memorable one - and a great way to end the trip.
Tomorrow Steven heads to Namibia, and I head to Joburg to hang out in the airport, watch the Algeria game and then...head on home!
