DAY 5 - CAPE TOWN BABY!

The morning came too soon - and at 5;30am we were ready to head to the airport for our flight to Cape Town. Once we arrived a barrage of Netherlands fans took over the airport in a swarm of orange with their vuvuzelas on their way to Durban - even though it was 6am, these fans were ready and LOUD! Upon arrival after our flight (easy quick flight, like Portland to San Fran and/or NYC to Chicago) we had our guide pick us up and take us to our hotel.

We are staying at a beautiful hotel right on the waterfront of Cape Town called The Table Bay Hotel. We directly left after checking in and went to Robben Island - amazing. We had the BEST guide, and learned so much about the history of the Island as it was used for hundreds of years not just by South Africa, but other countries. It is of course famous because of Nelson Mandela and the 27 years he spent there as a political prisoner.

After the tour, we spent the afternoon checking out the Waterfront of Cape Town - which is so beautiful and vivacious. Then decided to have a nice dinner and call it a night...because we have great white shark cage diving in the morning! Another early one...
